Rhuben Emerel Lindgren was born 14 January 1900 in Colon, Saunders, NE, died 19 April 1960 in Burke, Gregory, SD, and is buried with his family in Highland Cemetery, Fairfax, Gregory, SD. (Find A Grave Memorial # 43207985)
On 25 June 1922 he married Frieda Christina Gall at her parents' home east of Fairfax, SD. She was born 31 July 1901 near Fairfax, Gregory, SD. She died 13 January 1999 at Rochester, Olmsted, MN, and is buried with her husband in Highland Cemetery. (Find A Grave Memorial # 43208138) She was the daughter of Balthaser James Gall and Magdalena Bentz, whose families had been original homesteaders in the Fairfax area.
Rhuben's father, Charles, had purchased a farm located about eight miles east of Fairfax, SD, and raised the family there. Charles retired and moved to town, turning over the farm to Rhuben. Rhuben and his bride farmed there for many years before selling that farm and moving to a larger farm located two miles east of Fairfax. There he farmed, until succumbing to pancreatic cancer.
