Obituary for Amber Esther Fotheringham Paulson: Amber Esther Fotheringham was born September 7, 1911 on a farm west of Academy to George and Elsie (Veale) Fotheringham. Amber attended Ward Academy before her marriage to Jonas Paulson on August 29, 1928 in Platte. After her marriage she moved to a farm 10 miles west and 1 1/2 miles south of Platte. Amber's husband, Jonas, passed away on November 27, 1979. In October of 1980 Amber moved to town and in 1993 became a resident of the Platte Nursing Home. Amber was a charter member of the Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church and was a member of the Bethel Women's Missionary Fellowship. Amber passed away in the evening of January 16, 1996 at the Platte Nursing Home. Amber is survived by four daughters: Jean and her husband Ray Thompson of Platte, Ruth and her husband Gordon Carter of Chamberlain, Marian Jorgensen of Omaha, NE Faith and her husband Gene Van Zee of Platte, two sisters: Catherine Shrake and Sylvia Bailey both of Chamberlain: 18 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-granchildren. Amber was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jonas, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and one great-granddaughter. |
