LaVerne Lindgren was born 06 Dec 1916 on the family farm, Saunders Co., NE. She died 13 Nov 1998 at Wahoo, Saunders, NE. In 1954, she married Elmer Vermeline (born 20 May 1911, Saunders Co., NE, died Feb 1986 at Wahoo, Saunders, NE), son of Herman & Hulda Vermeline. LaVerne was a school teacher before her marriage. They farmed near Prague, NE until 1956, when they moved to a farm east of Ceresco, NE. Elmer's rheumatoid arthritis made it difficult for him to farm, so the family moved in 1960 to Wahoo, NE, where he found work with the city. LaVerne worked as a part-time cook in the local hospital for from 1967 - 1982. LaVerne and Elmer had 2 daughters: 1. Laurie Vermeline, married David Schultz. Laurie was an R.N., working in Omaha, NE in 1983. 2. Carol Vermeline, married Stephen Renter. Carol was a histology technologist at U of N Medical Center in 1983. Carol & Stephen have a child: 1. Heather Marie Renter
