Conrad and Barbara had 3 children:

3.  Jason Olson died as an infant.

Conrad Olson, 68, of Pickstown

Conrad died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Funeral services are 10:30 AM, Thursday, March 6, 2014 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Lake Andes. Burial is in Lakeview Cemetery, rural Lake Andes, with military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM with the family present from 5 to 7 PM at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner.

Conrad “Connie” Leander Olson was born May 31, 1945 at Spencer, NE, the son of Emfrey L. and Elsie L. (Martinson) Olson. He died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Connie attained the age of 68 years, 9 months and 2 days.

Connie graduated form Pickstown High School in 1963. He attended Southern State College in Springfield.

Connie was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Farke in Armour on May 22, 1970. Two daughters were blessed to their union, Heather Jean and Marla Marie. Connie farmed his whole life in Gregory County, west of Pickstown.

Connie served in the SD National Guard as a medic. He was a board member of Rosebud Electric REA for more than 20 years and also served as it’s president.

Connie will be remembered for his love for his family and the farm. He also enjoyed hunting, snow skiing, and loved camping, boating and water skiing on the Missouri River.

Thankful for having shared his life are his wife Barbara of Pickstown; daughters: Heather (Chris) Menkens and their children: Christian, Noah & Isabella of Bonesteel; Marla (Tom) Frankenstein and their children: Hunter & Holly of Tea, SD; brothers: Donald, Spencer, NE; Warren (Etta Mae) Albion, NE; Norman, Pickstown, SD; Lorin (Karen) Midlothian, VA; sisters-in-law: Priscilla (Ivan) Lau, Armour, SD; Janis (Larry) Caldwell, Mt. Pleasant, SC; Carolyn (Robert), Pierre, SD; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, friends and classmates.

Connie was preceded in death by his infant son Jason, parents, mother and father-in-law, Leo and Alice Farke, and a number of aunts, uncles, family and classmates.

Memorials will be directed to cancer research.
