Upon Olga's death, Inez and Lester were adopted and raised by Ted's brother, George Scholl and his wife, Edith Potthast. George and Edith lived in Gregory, SD, where he operated a bulk gasoline and oil station in 1940. Ted was living in Fairfax, Gregory, SD in 1925, and appeared to be working for a furniture/undertaking establishment. In 1930, he had moved to Rapid City, Pennington, SD, where he worked as a furniture retail dealer in partnership with Harold Engberg. The 1935 State Census lists his occupation as 'merchant', and the 1945 Census lists his occupation as 'Floor Covering dealer'. Ted Scholl remarried on 29 Jun 1931 in Rapid City, Pennington, SD to Wilma E. Rathbun (b: 04 Jan 1909 in Jefferson Twp., Fayette, IA, d: Mar 1980 in Lexington, Fayette, KY), daughter of Herbert R. Rathbun and Martha E. Burch. In 1935, she was working as a stenographer. Ted and Wilma "Billie" Scholl had a daughter: Naomi Jean Scholl. |
