From 1910-1912, he farmed in Tripp Co., SD. 1912-1913, he was a bookkeeper at Anderson Wallpaper & Paint Co., in Sioux City, IA. 1913-1920 found him again farming in Saunders Co. In 1920, he was living in Saunders Co., NE with his widowed sister, Adele. He was a cashier at Malmo State Bank from 1920-1930. In 1930, he was boarding in Malmo, NE, with Ben Erickson, a widower. Dorothy was living with her widowed father in Wahoo, NE. In 1934, he became a Saunders County Clerk, and was still occupying that position in 1940, when the Census listed him as residing in Stocking Precinct, Wahoo, Saunders, NE, with his wife, Dorothy, and widowed father-in-law, C.P. Hultin. He was also active with the local volunteer fire department, and in his local community. |
