Anders "Andrew" (Alfred Andersson) Lindgren was born 30 September 1840 in Jonsbo, Kalmar Län, Sweden. He died 08 February 1908, and is buried in Messiah Lutheran Cemetery, Baker, Boyd County, NE. (Find A Grave Memorial # 51068397). His parents were Anders Nilsson (born 18 Oct 1806 in Sweden) and Maja Greta Andersdotter (b: 21 Nov 1816 in Sweden). He arrived in America in 1865, according to the 1900 US Census. Oral history has him marrying the widow Carolina Charlotta G. Persdotter just before their honeymoon voyage to America. His naturalization occurred on 12 Oct 1872, recorded in Knoxville, IL. Genealogist Tommy Jacobsson has provided information on the wife, Carolina Charlotta G. Persdotter, who was born 15 August 1841 in Göteborg (Gothenburg), Vastergötland, on the island of Fångö, Sweden. Her father was Petter Olofsson, who worked as a miner there. She died 12 December 1909, and is buried with Anders in Messiah Lutheran Cemetery, Baker, Boyd Co., NE. (Find A Grave Memorial # 51068398) Charlotte married in December 1862 to Johan P. Eriksson. Mr. Eriksson drowned in Dec 1864 in Sweden, leaving her with a young son, Erik Ferdinand "Frank". She immigrated to America with her son on May 6, 1868. If oral history is correct, Anders returned to Sweden to marry his wife. Anders raised Frank as his own son. Upon arriving in America, they joined a settlement of relatives and friends in Knox County, IL. There, Caroline, Charles, Annie, and Gustaf were born. Some time after Gustaf was born, a group of relatives and friends headed for new land in Saunders County, Nebraska. Anders took his young family to join them, settling on a farm in Mariposa Township, near Wahoo, Saunders County, NE. Hulda was born in 1878, followed by an unnamed infant and Jennie. They are enumerated in Mariposa Precinct, Wahoo, Saunders, NE in the 1880 & 1900 US Censuses and in the 1885 Nebraska State Census for Mariposa Township, Saunders Co., NE.
